Position Title: Quantity Surveyor – Site Based
We are currently looking for a highly competent and experienced Quantity Surveyor to work on-site as part of an expanding construction team in Dubai.
This position is ideal for a seasoned QS professional who understands the financial and contractual side of civil engineering projects. You will take ownership of project budgeting, cost tracking, contract management, and commercial reporting. Your work will directly influence the profitability and smooth execution of major construction initiatives.
If you hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, have at least ten years of UAE-based experience, and possess strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and local building regulations, we encourage you to apply.
Core Responsibilities
As a Site Quantity Surveyor, your day-to-day duties will include:
1. Overseeing On-Site QS Operations
You will manage all quantity surveying activities directly from the project site. This includes measuring completed work, preparing interim payment certificates, and ensuring alignment with project schedules and management goals.
2. Preparing and Reviewing BOQs
You will draft accurate and detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), prepare reliable cost estimates, and develop budget projections. Maintaining complete data accuracy in all commercial documents is essential.
3. Evaluating Variations and Claims
You will assess variation orders and contractor claims with care. Every change must be properly documented, justified, and approved in line with contractual terms before any financial adjustment is made.
4. Contract Administration
You will coordinate closely with consultants, site engineers, and project leaders to ensure smooth project delivery. Your role includes tracking contractual obligations, managing official correspondence, and resolving disputes when necessary.
5. Cost Control and Financial Monitoring
You will track project expenditures against approved budgets, identify potential overspending early, and recommend corrective actions to maintain strict financial discipline throughout the construction lifecycle.
6. Using Technology for Cost Reporting
You will utilize modern digital tools and specialized QS software to generate cost reports, track project finances, and produce professional documentation for management review and audit purposes.
