Job Title: QA/QC Engineer (Construction – Buildings & Villas)

We are currently seeking a qualified, experienced, and detail-oriented QA/QC Engineer to join our construction team in Abu Dhabi. This is an urgent hiring requirement, and immediate joiners will be given preference.

This role is ideal for a civil engineer who understands that quality assurance is the backbone of successful construction projects. You will be the gatekeeper of quality—ensuring that every construction activity, from material delivery to final handover, meets project specifications, regulatory requirements, and the highest industry standards.

If you have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, 3 to 5 years of construction experience (buildings or villas preferred), and strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures including ITP, MIR, WIR, RFI, and NCR documentation, we want to hear from you today.

Key Responsibilities

As a QA/QC Engineer at Datum General Contracting, your daily responsibilities will include:

1. Implementing QA/QC Procedures

You will establish, implement, and maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures on site. You will ensure that every construction activity aligns with approved method statements and project specifications.

2. Preparing Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)

You will prepare and review Inspection and Test Plans for all construction activities. These plans will define quality control checkpoints, testing frequencies, and acceptance criteria.

3. Conducting Material & Site Inspections

You will perform regular material inspections to verify compliance with approved samples and specifications. You will also conduct site quality checks at every stage of construction—from foundation to finishing.

4. Coordinating with Consultants & Clients

You will liaise with consultants, client representatives, and third-party inspectors to schedule and conduct joint inspections. You will ensure that all approvals are obtained before proceeding to the next construction phase.

5. Managing Quality Documentation

You will prepare, review, and manage the following essential quality documents:

  • MIR (Material Inspection Request) – For all incoming materials
  • WIR (Work Inspection Request) – For completed work stages
  • RFI (Request for Information) – For clarifications on drawings or specifications
  • NCR (Non-Conformance Report) – For identifying and tracking quality deviations

6. Raising & Closing NCRs

You will raise Non-Conformance Reports whenever work or materials deviate from specifications. You will work with site teams to implement corrective actions and ensure timely closure of all NCRs.

7. Monitoring Subcontractor Quality

You will monitor the work of subcontractors to ensure they adhere to the same quality standards as the main contract. You will conduct regular audits and provide feedback for improvement.

8. Maintaining Quality Records

You will maintain a complete, auditable trail of all quality documentation, inspection reports, test results, and correspondence. Your records will support project handover and warranty periods.

Requirements

To be considered for this QA/QC Engineer position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized university is required.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional experience in construction quality assurance and quality control. Experience with building or villa construction projects is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), method statements, and construction quality standards.
  • Documentation Skills: Must be proficient in preparing and understanding MIR, WIR, RFI, and NCR documentation.
  • Inspection Experience: Proven experience in handling inspections with consultants, client representatives, and regulatory authorities.
  • Material Knowledge: Good understanding of construction materials (concrete, steel, blocks, finishes) and associated testing methods.
  • UAE Experience: Previous experience working on construction projects in the UAE is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Availability: Immediate joiners will be given preference. Candidates with a notice period of 2 weeks or less are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Soft Skills: Strong documentation and reporting skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication with site teams and consultants.
