What is UTR number?  What is its role in fund transfer

What is UTR number?

UTR is also abbreviated as transaction number or reference number. The status of a transaction or fund transfer can be ascertained with the help of a UTR number.

You have transferred funds to a person but that fund has not reached him.  You can find out about the fund through the UTR number in such a situation.  Whenever a person calls customer care, he asks you about the same number. When there is a transaction of money between two bank accounts, a special transaction number is issued for it.  This transaction number contains the IFSC code of the fund transferring bank, the date and time of the transaction, etc.  This is called a unique transaction reference number (UTR).  Let us know that UTR cannot be of any other transaction.

The status of the fund transfer can be found out
that UTR is also called transaction number or reference number for short. The status of a transaction or fund transfer can be ascertained with the help of a UTR number.  The status itself provides complete transaction information. If the transaction is stuck somewhere in the middle, then its information is also found in it.  On transfer of funds through NEFT and RTGS, a UTR number is issued on each transaction.  Let us know that the UTR number is issued only for NEFT transfer and RTGS transfer. For IMPS, UPI, AePS, etc. it does not release.

According to the information, the UTR number of the NEFT transaction is 16 digits and the UTR number of the RTGS transaction is 22 digits.  Let us know that the record of all the transactions is recorded in the passbook of the bank account. All transactions also have their date and UTR number in front of them.
